Lessons from a Decade of Helping Churches Navigate Technology Over the last ten years, I've had the opportunity to serve churches and small organizations in a variety of roles. Sometimes I've been the volunteer helping wire up a sound booth on a Saturday afternoon. Sometimes I've been the consultant troubleshooting network issues after a service. In my professional career, I've worked in enterprise technology and cybersecurity, helping organizations solve complex technical problems and improve their security posture. One thing I've learned is that every church is different. Some churches have incredibly capable technology volunteers. Some have retired IT professionals in the congregation. Some are fortunate enough to have staff members who understand technology well. Others have pastors who are carrying the entire technology burden themselves because no one else is available.
